InfrastructureIntroduction

Infrastructure

The Infrastructure tab offers a dashboard that displays essential information about the fabric hardware, including switches and controllers.

Controller and Switch Details

The controller details displayed include:

  • Controller Health Status: Current health and operational status of the controller.
  • IP Information: Network address and connectivity details.
  • Interface Details and Status: Information on interfaces and their operational statuses.
  • Storage Status: Overview of storage capacity and usage.
  • Running Processes: List of active processes on the controller.
  • Hardware Information: Specifications and statuses of hardware components, including fans, power supply units (PSUs), and memory.

The switch details includes:

  • IP Information: Displays IP addresses and connectivity details.
  • Hardware Information: Provides specifications and statuses of key components such as line modules, supervisor modules, fans, and power supply units (PSUs).

Controller and Switch Faults

All the faults present in the controller are displayed and are categorized into:

  • Critical: A service-impacting condition requiring immediate action, indicating that a managed object is currently out of service and needs urgent restoration.
  • Major: A service-impacting condition that requires urgent corrective measures. This severity level suggests severe degradation in the managed object’s functionality, necessitating prompt action to restore full capability.
  • Minor: A non-service-impacting fault that requires attention to prevent escalation. This severity level implies that while the current condition does not affect functionality, it could lead to more severe issues if unaddressed.
  • Warnings: An impending or potential service-impacting fault that is currently non-critical. Although this condition does not affect system performance at present, diagnostic action is recommended to prevent future degradation.

You can also filter by each fault category and keyword to drill down into specific faults and examine detailed information for each one.

You also have the option to access AI-driven explanations for each fault, providing insights into the root causes and recommended steps for resolution. OpenAI API keys are required. See System for information on how to add OpenAI API keys.
